I was updating movie news for the website I work for and I came across this article about International Film Festival. This year there are quite a bunch of Malayalam movies gets screened. I should also mention that I am a die hard fan of Malayalam Film Industry.I thought I should catch up with them though I have seen a few already. This movie Traffic is one of them. I didn’t have any idea when I started watching the movie.
Traffic, directed by Rajesh Pillai starts with the narration of Sreenivasan. The casts include Sreenivasan, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Kunchakoban, Asif Ali, Sandhya, Roma, Rahman, Ramya Nambeesan and lots more. It involves lots of characters and how each one is linked and what makes them to meet. The movie gives you mixed emotions anger, fear, sorrow, pain , luv, hate, trust, betryal , shame, fame, friendship, responsibility and lot more.
The director has beautifully carved the characters and the importance of each is realized. The story involves around an accident in
Rahain’s parents initially refuse to donate the heart. But later they are convinced by his friends. The pain of the parents to digest their son is no more stays in your mind. On the other end the kid’s father is a super star (Sidharth played by Rahman) in Malayalam industry. The super hero becomes totally incapable to save his daughter and he is incapable to convince Rahain’s parents.
Finally when they are ready to do the transplantation, comes the question of how to transport the heart from
A complex story neatly presented. The editing is fantastic in final sequences. Good camera work and logical hurdles while transporting the heart. There is one song in the start which helps in establishing the characters. Background score is excellent. Each and every object gets neat link to the scenes and in the end forms a complete story.
There is also a similar real incident which was done successfully in Chennai. There are also dialogues in the film discussing the same.
Hats off to the crew and director for presenting a good film!
A must watch film!
P.S - I just read that the film is going to be remade in Tamil and Hindi.
