Cricket... Business and Religion…. The 3 mistakes of my life….

I have thought twice before typing this blog. Mainly because books are not my core area and I was little worried about my writing style. I very well know its bad and my friends will find many mistakes while reading it. I am happy to tell you all that, I have got an editor for my blog. May be I am the first person to have an editor to blog posts ;)
I know that’s little too much…. Anyways it’s the readers who are going to suffer my English… So I welcome Rakesh and special thanks for joining me ;)

Chetan Bhagat the author of ‘Five Point Someone, One Night @ the Call Center’ and the recent ‘Three Mistakes of My Life’,

His third book is no different from his previous exertions. [My editor feels the three mistakes of his life are reading all 3 novels written by Chetan Bhagat]

Though the stories aren’t different, the handling and treatment of the story is good. It is targeted to a particular group of audience. This book talks about three friends and their passion in life.

Chetan’s shortcomings are blatantly obvious in this particular novel but it is quite difficult to take pot shots at Chetan who “magnanimously” accepts his pedestrian grasping of English.

Like his other books, this one too takes refuge in the first person narrative.
(My wicked Editor also prods me to mention the “co-incidence” of pre-marital “events” occurring in the life of the protagonist)

Govind, Ish and Omi are the friends with different passions in life. Govind wants to be a successful business man, Ish a cricket coach desperately tries to bring the special talents of a kid (Ali). Omi simple wants to be with his friends to avoid becoming a priest. The author describes both the brighter and darker side of his characters.

To put it short, if you had not read his other books you may find interesting to read the book. But at the same time if you had read the other books, better carry on with your work. But the guy makes you complete the story. He keeps the reader lively so you find it difficult to put it down. After you finish of course you think so what’s new in this book?

Same formula doesn’t work always. Now its time to think different!!!
