Wake Up!

After shifting our office to Ambattur I reach my home around eight. I relax for sometime talking to my mom. Slowly my sister studying 12th standard will ask dinner and switch on the TV. Because of my sister we had not paid the renewal amount to our DTH. So only one tamil channel is available free for us. She starts watching some crap serial.
I usually don’t like watching serials and also people who watch them. But I decided to watch to study the patterns in which these serials are taken.

1. A very catchy title song tuned by a famous music director. The song is visualized beautifully and edited with lot of effects.
2. Next in all these serials the woman is protagonist.
3. All these women are put into problems by their family members. These women are meaning of patience. They undergo all sort of torture.
4. Then coming to men, they either cheat their wife or lover with illegal connections or they have two wives.
5. The antagonist finds all psycho ways to trouble our beloved heroine. I really wonder what kind of a character the script must have, to come out with such vulgar or violent thoughts.
6. Not only films have vulgarity and violence. Serials also have started giving these stuffs right in your living room without your knowledge.
7. All people watching these serials irrespective of the sex get offended on the antagonist and feel sorry for the protagonist.

So these are some of the basic stuffs you come across in serial. Then I went to my neighbor home to watch what’s coming across in other channels. The same formula is followed in these channels in different titles through different character names. The TV artist is all the same who gets repeated in every serial.
In one serial you may find a female as protagonist’s mother and in the other she will come as antagonist mother. No big difference in it.

People are commenting on movies, criticizing it in all possible ways but why are they not just opening their eyes and watch what’s happening in their own living room, right in front of them.

The most affected people of these serials are little children who are growing among us watching them. Children don’t know what is right and wrong. There are lots of chances for them to adapt these unwanted stuffs. If these vulgarity and violence are sowed in their hearts at very young age, they might end up facing a tough life. Wake up! Help your kids watch good programs and show them the right path.
